Summertime is Sandal Time!!

So, take a look down and tell me... how do your feet look? When is the last time you treated yourself to a pedi? And, my goodness, how much did it COST?

Well summertime is the time to show your toesies! ('Course, in Texas, thong sandals are a year-round commodity, haha) But this is the time all those cute strappy sandals and high heel sandals come out and make their appearances. Now, in my opinion, a nice pair of classic espadrilles make, no, FORCE a girl's feet to look great, along with the calves, gotta have the nice calves... But, soft skin and a great nail color never hurt.
Avon's mark. Stacked Up Sandals $34.00

Since I'm an Avon rep, I get to pre-order these bundle deals on upcoming items and specials. I did just that last month - In campaign 15, we have a mix-n-match sale on most Avon Foot Works products, Buy 2 for $6.99 or Buy 3 for $8.99 (pgs. 182-187 in the catalog) - I decided to test the new Berry Mint scent.

I'm 26, (just a young'un!) but I only recently discovered the joys of a good pedicure, thanks to a birthday certificate from an old friend, who just could not abide with the knowledge that I'd been too nervous to ever get one. Thank you, K! So, I'm in college, college students are notoriously broke! A wonderful soak/calf massage isn't something I can afford on a regular basis but I sooooo wanted one on a regular basis!

Enter Avon... with a blow-up foot tub from the Avon Outlet catalog and a demo pack consisting of a velvety foot cream, an exfoliating scrub and foot soak, I spent an hour pampering my feet.

First, the soak. I got my foot tub on clearance, but Avon usually has a new style ready when they run out. So, blow up foot tub, add a few gallons of steamy warm water. It says to use 1-2 capfuls or amount desired...the cap isn't really the kind you can fill and dump, it's got a squeeze spout though, so I add three squirts. Right away, the Berry scent hits me with the steam coming up from the water. Ahhhh. So, I slip my feet in and ooooo! Instant tingles from the Mint.

Very Nice. So, 30 minutes later, I've harvested all my crops on Farmville; I'm ready to de-prune. What? you say - my feet have been in a warm water soak for 30 minutes! they're pruney! Onto the exfoliating scrub. I figure, the soak has softened up any dead skin; now, it just needs persuasion to get off my feet. So I persuaded. The scrub really makes your skin feel refreshed and clean, especially with the mint cooling on your skin.

Now for the final touch. The Berry Mint Lotion. I did what the lady at the nail salon did when I got my first pedi - a long trail of lotion on each leg from my toes to my knees. Then I went to town on my calves. I massaged it into my feet too, the pores were primed for some moisture after the soak & scrub.

The next day, my boyfriend commented on how nice and soft my feet felt. WOOT! Best Ten Bucks EVER!!

So, I'm sold on the home pedi. It was great, there was no awkward feeling of someone else messing with my feet, and I got to go straight to bed afterwards, feeling relaxed. And smelling of berries :)
